Blinn College at RELLIS
Opened in 2018 on the RELLIS Campus, the Walter C. Schwartz Building is a high-tech, collaborative-learning and educational environment designed specifically to help Blinn College students gain the science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and other skills they need to meet their goals for the future. Schwartz was a former Blinn student who rose to become the school’s 11th president and first chancellor.
The Blinn College District’s first executive dean of the RELLIS Campus is 23-year U.S. Navy veteran Chris Marrs.
As executive dean of the Blinn College Campus at RELLIS, Chris Marrs oversees RELLIS Campus recruitment and operations for the Blinn College District. Marrs previously served as executive officer of the Texas A&M Naval ROTC Unit and senior U.S. Navy officer and Associated Professor of Naval Sciences at A&M. Marrs’ Naval career included assignments as a division chief at the U.S. Transportation Command at Scott Air Force Base, as a liaison officer to the U.S. Central Command at MacDill Air Force Base, and as Operations Officer and aviator in an F/A-18F Super Hornet strike-fighter squadron at the U.S. Naval Air Station in Atsugi, Japan. Marrs earned his bachelor degree from Texas A&M University and entered U.S. Naval Service from the Texas A&M Naval ROTC in 1994.
