The A&M System Agencies
One of the founding principles of Texas A&M University, as a land-grant college, was to provide educational instruction in the agricultural and mechanical fields of study. In addition, schools like A&M also were charged with providing vocational and technical training and continuing education services extending beyond its campus boundaries.
Which is why these agencies are a part of The Texas A&M University System:
Texas A&M AgriLife Research
Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES)
Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service
Texas A&M Forest Service
Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX)
Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI)
Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory
Four of these agencies, AgriLife Research, TEES, TEEX and TTI, have lengthy and fascinating histories on the RELLIS Campus site, dating back to the early 1960s.
