Growing Up In "Camelot"

Reactivated with the outset of the Korean War, Bryan Air Force Base was an integral and valued part of the local landscape. Noted local historian Anne Boykin grew up in College Station and recalls an idyllic existence...even if the “waters” were sometimes a little murky.

An accomplished artist and calligrapher who spent 30 years in Austin, Texas, Anne Boykin returned to her home town of College Station, Texas in 2004. She quickly made her mark working for the City of College Station to create Project HOLD–an historic online library database dedicated to historic preservation efforts. In 2011, Anne joined the Texas A&M University Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) as a graphic designer and historian.
